Record what a tile should say, for example “More, please”. A parent, a sister, a teacher - a voice the person already knows. Without a recording, the tile reads its name out loud.

Questions and answers
How do I add a tile?
Open Settings → Your Tiles → Add Tile. Choose a picture, type a name and record what the tile should say.
How do I record my voice?
In the tile editor, hold the red button and speak. Short and calm works best. Silence at the start and end is trimmed. Without a recording, the tile reads its name out loud.
How do I open Settings?
Hold the gear at the top of the board until the countdown ends. You choose how long the hold takes. If you added a PIN, Settings then ask for it.
How do I keep the person in Tapello?
Turn on Guided Access in iOS (Settings → Accessibility → Guided Access). Then press the side or Home button 3 times quickly in Tapello. Tapello has a short guide for it in Help.
I forgot the PIN. What now?
Tap Forgot PIN? and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode. Then set a new PIN.
How do I move the board to a new iPad?
Turn on iCloud sync, or make a backup file in Settings and open it on the new device. Photos and recordings come along.
Does it work without the internet?
Yes. The board, the recordings and the photos are on the device. The internet is only needed for iCloud sync.
Does it play in silent mode?
Yes, recordings play even when the ring/silent switch is on. Tapello shows a yellow badge when the volume is low or the sound goes to headphones.
How do I restore my purchase?
Settings → Premium → Restore Purchases. Premium is a one-time purchase, so it comes back on the same Apple Account.
How do I delete my data?
Delete tiles in the app, or delete the app to remove everything from the device. Data in iCloud: iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Tapello.
